Silent Light™ - Returns, Exchanges & Warranty Claims

Medical & Safety Notice
Silent Light™ is a therapeutic light device. Before use, please consult a qualified healthcare professional if you have photosensitive conditions, a history of epilepsy, migraines, bipolar disorder, or are taking photosensitising medications. This policy governs commercial transactions only and does not constitute medical advice.

30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee
We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee from the date of confirmed delivery. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may request a return within this period.

To be eligible for a return, the following conditions must be met:

  • Proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt) must be provided.
  • The device must be returned in reasonable condition, consistent with normal
    assessment use.
  • The serial number must match the original sale record.
  • All included accessories must be returned (charging cable, wristband, and protective pouch, where applicable).

Refunds cover the purchase price of the device only. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.

2. Non-Returnable Items
For hygiene and safety reasons, the following items are non-returnable once opened or
used:

  • Adhesive consumables
  • Replacement consumables of any kind
  • Gift wrapping and packaging accessories
  • Promotional or complimentary items

Opened consumable items cannot be resold and are therefore excluded from refund eligibility.

3. Return Process

To initiate a return, please follow these steps in order:

  1. Contact our Customer Support team at info@gblbiotech.com, or via phone or live
    chat where available.
  2. Include your order number and a clear reason for the return request.
  3. Await written return authorisation from our team before shipping any item.
  4. Ship the item using a tracked postal service to the address provided in your
    authorisation email.

Important:

  • Unauthorised returns (shipped without prior written authorisation) may not be
    accepted and could be returned to sender at the customer’s expense.
  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is confirmed
    defective or damaged on arrival.
  • GBL Biotech Pty Ltd is not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit. We
    strongly recommend tracked and insured postage.

4. Inspection & Approval

All returned products undergo inspection upon receipt. Refunds may be declined if any of the following are identified:

  • Physical damage attributable to misuse, accident, or negligence.
  • Evidence of tampering, modification, or disassembly.
  • Water or liquid damage (the Silent Light™ device is not rated for submersion).
  • Removal, alteration, or defacement of the device serial number.

Approved refunds will be processed within 7–14 business days of our inspection
confirmation. You will be notified by email at each stage.

5. Defective or Damaged Products

If your Silent Light™ device arrives defective or visibly damaged upon delivery:

  • Notify us as soon as practicable, and within a reasonable timeframe from the date of delivery. We ask that you notify us promptly; however, your rights under Australian Consumer Law are not limited solely to a short notification window.
  • Provide clear photographs of the damage and a written description of the fault
    observed. 

Upon review, we may at our discretion:

  • Replace the device with an equivalent unit.
  • Repair the device at no cost to the customer.
  • Issue a full or partial refund of the purchase price.

Note: Where a defect constitutes a major failure under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to choose your remedy. Our discretionary options above operate in addition to, not in lieu of, your statutory rights.

6. Warranty Claims – 1-Year Limited Warranty

⚠ CORRECTION NOTICE: A prior version of this document incorrectly stated a ‘12-year
limited warranty’ due to a typographical error. The correct warranty period is 1 (one) year
from the date of purchase. This has been corrected in this version.

The Silent Light™ device includes a 1-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects arising under normal and intended use from the date of original purchase.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Accidental damage of any kind.
  • Cosmetic wear, surface scratches, or discolouration resulting from normal use.
  • Damage resulting from misuse, improper storage, or use outside of the
    recommended guidelines.
  • Use of non-approved charging accessories. Approved accessories are those
    supplied with the device or explicitly listed on our website at
    www.gblbiotech.com/accessories.
  • Repairs or modifications performed by any party not authorised in writing by GBL
    Biotech Pty Ltd.
  • Exposure to liquids or moisture beyond the device’s rated tolerance.

All warranty claims require valid proof of purchase. We reserve the right to repair or replace a defective device at our discretion, subject to your rights under applicable consumer law.

7. Chargebacks & Fraud Prevention

We encourage customers to contact our support team before initiating a chargeback with
their financial institution. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in:

  • Suspension of any active warranty on the device.
  • Restriction or closure of the associated customer account.
  • Submission of relevant transaction documentation to the payment processor for
    dispute resolution.

We reserve the right to dispute chargebacks we believe to be fraudulent or without valid
basis. This does not affect your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

8. International Orders

Customers placing orders from outside Australia are responsible for all costs and obligations associated with importation, including but not limited to:

  • Import duties and tariffs applicable in the destination country.
  • Customs clearance fees.
  • Value Added Tax (VAT) or equivalent local consumption taxes.
  • Any other locally levied charges.

If a parcel is returned to GBL Biotech Pty Ltd due to non-payment of customs duties or
refusal of delivery, restocking and return shipping fees may be deducted from any applicable refund. We recommend consulting your local customs authority prior to placing an order.

9. Your Rights Under Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy you are entitled to under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act
2010) or any other applicable consumer protection legislation. 

Where your statutory rights exceed the terms of this policy, your statutory rights prevail.
Consumers are encouraged to contact the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) or their relevant state consumer protection authority if they believe their rights have not been honoured.
